We have one postcard and three letters from his overseas service, and they give us the opportunity to look a bit deeper into the war experience of Private John Edward Parker reg. no. 195573.[i] Private Parker. The more we research his story the more questions are added to our initial list. Foremost at this time is why in Windsor, but that may come from some remaining family papers. As a private, Victor’s death did not rate mention in the War Diary for the 21/22 June 1916, nor did an earlier wounding in October 1915.
